Frequently
Asked
Questions
What’s the food and drink situation?
FOOD
Breakfast for dinner, attended buffet. Brunch-influenced desserts.
DRINK
Semi-open bar: beer, wine and a signature cocktail are on us. Hard liquor’s on you.
What time should I get there?
4:45pm
The ceremony starts at 5:00pm and it’ll be short. After that, we roll straight into cocktails, brinner and dancing.
Schedule:
CEREMONY – 5:00pm
COCKTAILS – 5:30pm
BRINNER – 6:30pm
DANCING – 8:00pm to 11:00pm
What will the ceremony be like?
Great question. It’ll be a bit different from the Catholic ceremonies most our family is used to. Most notably, it’ll be shorter. Check out the program below for more.
What should I wear?
On a scale of Black-Tie-to-Ugly-Christmas-Sweater-Party, let’s say something in the neighborhood of Fun Cocktail Party. Whether that means breaking out a maxi dress or slacks, LBD or khakis, just plan to have your photo taken.
What’s Megs & Blacon?
It’s our Bennifer. Our Brangelina. But better. And brunchy.
What will be your new last name?
We will be Meg and Blake Messina.
Instead of hyphenating our last names, we’re folding the middle of Meg’s last name into the beginning and end of Blake’s last name. Stessman + Molina = Messina. It’s an intentional way for us to honor both our original families and our new one while ensuring the kids don’t carry a 15-character hyphenated tongue twister.
You’re requiring vaccinations?
Yes. All guests ages 16 and over will need to submit photo proof of full vaccination with their RSVP to attend. This is a boundary we’re setting to help keep everyone as safe as possible given the circumstances. We completely understand if you need to decline because of this measure; no single day is worth your health or bodily autonomy. We thank you for understanding and look forward to the next time we get to see you.
If you have questions, a medical exemption, or are concerned about achieving full vaccination by December 1, please reach out to us directly. Other COVID precautions include:
Masks - due to the vaccination requirement, masks are recommended but not required.
Hand sanitizer - stations will be provided throughout the venue.
Seating - we will not be able to socially distance the ceremony seating, but we will be able to craft the seating chart with recent travels/gatherings in mind.
Food and drink - dinner will be an attended brunch buffet. To minimize common contact between waitstaff, we’ll use disposable dinner and drink ware.
